Journalists Lash Out at Brooklyn Center Police Chief for Bringing Up Last Night’s Riot

During today’s press conference Brooklyn Center Police Chief Gannon talk about being at last night’s riot. Journalists at the press conference immediately interject “don’t do that”, “There was no riot there”. The Police Chief stood his ground on the matter. Gannon described the riot, “The officers that were putting themselves in harm’s way were being pelted with frozen cans of pop, they were being pelted with concrete blocks.” This is another effort of the left-wing media to control the narrative of what took place last night.

The Mayor of Brooklyn Center issued a curfew in response to the riots right around midnight, urging people to go home. He also released a video in an effort to quell the unrest explaining that there would be a press briefing this morning.

President Biden this morning spoke on the officer involved shooting of Daunte Wright and the rioting that occurred afterward. In his remarks Bide asks, “Was it an accident or was it intentional? That remains to be determined.” He then goes on to address the rioting as we wait for the investigation into the incident saying, “In the meantime, I want to make it clear again, There is absolutely now justification, none, for looting. Peaceful protest understandable.”

The press conference this morning brought to light that the officer who shot Wright was a senior female officer and from the video, the Police of Chief believes she accidentally shot Wright thinking she had her taser in her hand. She yells “Taser! Taser! Taser!” in the video announcing she was going to taser Wright. She then shoots Wright and he drives away at which time she announces “(Expletive) I shot him”.

We reported on the rioting earlier, “Local reporter Liz Sawyer with the Star Tribune tweeted out a picture of an empty store and said, “Several businesses around the Brooklyn Center Walmart are completely destroyed. Police rolled up and made some arrests as young men ran from buildings carrying stolen goods. Foot Locker, T Mobile, and a New York men’s clothing store all completely destroyed.”

Sawyer tweeted out again about the looting, interviewing the owner of a clothing store that had been ransacked.

“Andre Stevenson, of Minneapolis, is the longtime manager of the clothing store. He arrived to find the store in complete ruins. The only item of clothing left appeared to be one pair of jeans on a mannequin,” Sawyer said in a tweet.

Store manager Andrew Stevenson, who is black, remarked “I understand why people are frustrated, I do, but this isn’t going to solve anything, ultimately.”

Another reporter with the Star Tribune, Andy Mannix, shared some pictures that culminated in, “Another adult sized dose of gas. We are getting outta here” followed by a picture showing Humvees where he said, “National guard has arrived.”
