Joy Reid Insists There is ‘Zero Evidence’ That BLM Has ‘Ever Pushed For Anything Violent’

MSNBC kicked off it’s coverage of last night’s presidential debate with a “Decision 2020” special anchored by Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, and Nicolle Wallace and after the debate, Reid, Maddow and Wallace teamed up with Brian Williams for “continuing coverage and analysis.”

At one point Reid, went on a rant accusing President Trump of a “suite of lies” during the debate. She first attempted to defend Joe Biden and the 1994 crime bill and said then referenced a 2000 book where President Trump called for toughness on violent crime.

Reid then said that she had “one more and then I will stop” and was urged to “keep going, you don’t have to stop.”

“This ‘pigs in a blanket fry ’em like bacon’ lie about Black Lives Matter has been galling me since people on the right started throwing that out there, they are basing that on a march for Eric Garner in New York,” Reid began.

Reid then said that she was covering that march and that “Not one person chanted that ‘pigs in a bacon’ line, there was an offshoot, a separate group of people, nobody knows who they are,” she insisted.

Reid continued, “There is absolutely zero, none, zero evidence that Black Lives Matter has ever pushed for anything violent, pushed for anything violent to happen to police.

“Black Lives Matter is about one thing: Stop killing black people just because you pulled them over for a parking violation or a moving violation, they have never advocated for violence against police,” she believes.

Reid then said that if Trump wants “Black men” to vote for him, then this is not the right way to go about it because she said that the “extreme majority” want “police reform”.

Reid finished by saying, “This lie about Black Lives Matter has to end, it has to stop and Donald Trump pushing it tonight.”
