It is unclear why this decision has been made as the transition process has been underway for the past few weeks. Some may speculate whether or not President Trump has anything to do with this. As it seems he doesn’t want Biden allowed access to any information; Trump believes that without perceived voter fraud and improprieties that he beat Biden.
Secretary Miller has been supporting the president’s foreign policy positions as there has been a significant reduction of U.S. troops across the globe, in places like Somalia and Afghanistan. Doing this may force Biden to deploy more troops into the middle east and other countries. This could cause frustration within his own party.
Some may speculate there could be something that the president knows which brings for not allowing transition briefings to continue. However, it is dangerous to speculate on specific without direct knowledge so we will see what comes of this breaking and shocking development.
The Biden transition director said, “in fact, we think it’s important that briefings and other engagements continue during this period as there’s no time to spare, and that’s particularly true in the aftermath of ascertainment delay,”.
The president doesn’t seem to be conceding anytime soon letting all of his options play out. It is unclear at this time as why exactly the Pentagon halted on this.
