Marjorie Taylor Greene Makes Move, Introduces Second Amendment Bill Aimed at blocking Federal Funds from Being Used for Gun Control

Pro-Trump Freshman U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has introduced a bill into the U.S. House of Representatives today called the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) which in her terms would, “eliminate federal funds used to enforce gun control on law-abiding Americans.” Below is her tweet from this afternoon.

“I pledged to the residents of NW Georgia that as their Congresswoman I would work to protect their Second Amendment rights. That’s exactly what I did today with the introduction of the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA).”

The statement describes how the federal government can’t use taxpayer dollars to enforce gun control laws on Americans who follow the law if the bill succeeds. Greene said, “Our God-given right to protect our country, ourselves, and our families shouldn’t be up for debate.”

She followed that by saying, “I’m proud to introduce this legislation, endorsed by the American Firearms Association, that will defund the enforcement of tyrannical gun control laws.”

Multiple Republican Congressmen co-sponsored this bill, including Reps, Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Chip Roy (R-TX), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Scott Perry (R-PA), Randy Weber (R-TX), and Madison Cawthorn (R-NC). This bill seems to be popular among the pro-gun GOP Congressmen who are fighting to ensure Americans’ 2nd amendment right to defend themselves and their families.

Greene also introduced a gun rights bill that would block a wave of gun control the Biden administration is planning and it challenges a anti-gun bill the House Democrats have proposed. Below is the tweet.

“National gun sanctuary proposed by @mtgreenee @RepMTG Would preemptively block a wave of gun control the Biden administration is planning and directly challenge H.R. 127, a notorious anti-gun bill proposed by House liberals.”

These bills show that Rep. Greene has a commitment to the constitution and the people’s basic rights of self-defense which seem to be infringed on every day by what some view as “tyrannical” anti-gun legislation. Although unlikely these bills pass, it is encouraging to see the GOP fight for our second amendment on some scale even if it’s just a symbolic piece of legislation.
