Mark Cuban Admits Twitter Made ‘Smart Marketing Move’ in Reinstating Former President Donald Trump

Saturday Elon Musk reinstated Donald Trump’s Twitter account, which had been “permanently” banned after January 6th. Mark Cuban called the reinstatement a “smart marketing” move for Twitter, while also taking a shot at the former president.

Cuban tweeted:

Musk started a poll Friday evening “Reinstate former President Trump” With the options of “Yes” or “No”. With 15 million votes, “Yes” won out and Musk reinstated the account. Currently, the poll has over 200k replies and shows almost 800k likes.

Cuban like many others is not a fan of Donald Trump, so the potshot added to his tweet is no surprise. Others have responded worse to The news.

ADL CEO Johnathan Greenblatt was unhappy with Musk’s decision tweeting:

“For @elonmusk to allow Donald Trump back on Twitter, ostensibly after a brief poll, shows he is not remotely serious about safeguarding the platform from hate, harassment and misinformation. As we’ve said before, Trump used Twitter to foment intolerance, issue threats and incite a violent attack against the US government. Moreover, he has shown no indication that he would do anything different if given the opportunity.”

Musk replied to the Anti-Defamation League CEO with, “Hey stop defaming me!”

Trump has shared that he doesn’t plan on returning to Twitter before his account was reinstated. We will see if he holds out on Truth Social, or if he reemerges on Twitter.
