Michelle Ugenti-Rita Corrects Arizona Governor Doug Ducey for Claiming there was Never a Lockdown

Arizona State Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita (R-AZ) from the 23rd district went after fellow Republican Governor Doug Ducey for claiming that there was never a lockdown in the State of Arizona.

Governor Ducey tweeted “Unlike other states, we never did a shutdown here in Arizona. We withstood the calls from the extremes on both sides, and we will continue to ignore them. We always knew that fighting this virus would be dependent on the personal responsibility of everyday Arizonans.”

Senator Ugenti-RITA fired back saying, “It’s not accurate 2 say “we never did a shutdown”. On 3/30/20 you issued EO: Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected. I respectfully disagree you “withstood the calls from the extremes”. Agreeing w/ Dems & media who support keeping AZ restricted doesn’t = ignoring the extremes.”

Governor Ducey was rightfully corrected for his false claim that he never imposed a lockdown on Arioznians, as he did on March 30, 2020, by issuing a state-at-home order. The RINO did little to help investigate claims of voter fraud and is now pretending he never shut down the state.

Fellow Republican State Senator Wendy Rogers (AZ) tweeted out something that might be directed at people like Governor Ducey for his false lockdown tweet.

Rogers said, “I support cancelling tyranny.”

As more Governors are opening up their states and trying to be on the right side of history, Ducey is trying to forget his. Ducey was a lockdown Governor who issued what many saw as an “unconstitutional” stay-at-home order.

We will have to see what other lies he makes up when trying to win the votes of Trump supporters in Arizona.
