Reports Suggest Trump Might Do Away With Pence, Snag DeSantis for Possible 2024 Dream Ticket

Former President Donald Trump made an important political speech this weekend at a private GOP donor dinner located at the Trump-owned Mar-a-Lago Club. In attendance were all major RNC donors along with other potential 2024 Republican congressional nominees.

Trump gave his speech on the final night of the retreat, noting his grievances towards former Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and praising a few GOP leaders, especially Florida governor, Ron Desantis. Trump announced that he will decide on a potential 2024 presidential run after he sees the results of the 2022 midterms. According to magaconservatives.com, “credible reports [say if] Trump runs he is leaning towards ditching Mike Pence and picking Ron DeSantis as his running mate.”

While it is still very early to predict who Trump will choose if he decides to run again, it has been quite obvious that the relationship between Trump and Desantis is developing. Politico reported, “Trump allowed DeSantis to share the stage with him. While Trump used his speech to share with donors that he was “disappointed” in Pence, he has privately told advisers that if he runs again, he wants DeSantis as his running mate.”

Another sign that hints at Desantis as a potential VP running mate was reported by Media Right News yesterday, April 11th.

Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump were spotted golfing in Florida at Trump International Golf Club this morning.

Images showed Trump having conversations with DeSantis during the outing and Trump was sporting a red “Make America Great Again” hat.

Desantis has received an overwhelming amount of support from Trump supporters over how he has handled the coronavirus pandemic and his views on lockdowns and mandatory vaccines. Florida was one of few states not to implement a mask mandate or statewide lockdown. This stance originally faced lots of criticisms but has proved to be a wise move with Florida’s virus numbers being comparable to states like California that had severe lockdown orders in place.

The PredictIt market put Governor Desantis ahead of Doanld Trump in trades forecasting the winner of the 2024 Republican presidential nomination on Saturday. This proves that support for Desantis is only growing and leads one to believe that a Trump/Desantis ticket would be very powerful and polarizing to conservatives across America.
