David Draiman, who is a rock legend from the band “disturbed”, applauded Spotify for “making the right call” in the Neil Young vs. Joe Rogan debacle.
“Disturbed singer David Draiman has weighed in on Spotify’s Neil Young vs. Joe Rogan decision, applauding the streaming service for ‘making the right call’ “

As we previously reported, “Spotify appears to have sided with Joe Rogan after it took off all of Neil Young’s music down following the musician’s complaints about Rogan’s podcast.
Young wrote a letter to his manager and label, requesting that they remove his music from Spotify in protest for Spotify allowing Joe Rogan, the host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, to have a platform for his podcast. Young accused Rogan of spreading vaccine misinformation. He wrote, ‘I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines—potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.’
Later, he said that Spotify can only have one of them on the platform, ‘They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.’ They chose the more popular Joe Rogan who has become spotlighted in the public eye recently for his stance on the Covid-19 vaccine.“
Draiman tweeted, “I applaud you and @Spotify for making the RIGHT call, preserving #FreeSpeech and not capitulating to the mob. I may not agree with everything @joerogan or his guests say, but they’re entitled to have the forum to say it.”

He later clarified his position, “Let me be clear. I do not support ANY artist blackmailing any entity to follow an agenda THEY believe in, wether it’s @Neilyoung one one side of the spectrum or @EricClapton on the other. Music shouldn’t be used to sow division. It should be used to bring people together IMHO”

Draiman has said that he is triple vaccinated and earlier this month he tweeted his opinion on Covid-19, “this has happened before in human history and it will happen again. I will follow the ACTUAL science, and NOT the heavily politicized, fear mongering garbage that has infested both sides of the narratives associated with this virus”.
Few people seem like they are bothered by Spotify’s decision, including Draiman, as most would agree that Rogan’s podcast shouldn’t be banned. Draiman’s most iconic song, “Down With The Sickness”, has amassed almost 150 million views on Youtube.
