Trevor Noah Announces he is Leaving ‘The Daily Show’ Shortly After Distasteful DeSantis Hurricane Diss

Trevor Noah announced that he would be leaving “The Daily Show” which he has hosted for the past seven years since 2015.

This news came a day after he went after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, something he has made a habit of. Showing the governor Noah said “I mean, you heard Governor DeSantis. He said, ‘This thing is the real deal. Not like the usual stuff I tell you to be scared of like drag queens or critical race theory. I’m talking real. Like, I might fly myself to Martha’s Vineyard.’”

Noah then added, “As we speak, Hurricane Ian is slamming into Florida, and I honestly hope that everyone in the Sunshine State is staying safe. I mean like, rest-of-America safe. You know, not like Florida safe, like where someone wears a long-sleeved shirt to wrestle a gator.”

The next night Noah was announcing his time at “The Daily Show” was coming to an end. The abrupt announcement came with no deadline and no real explanation as to why he was leaving. He told his audience, “I realized, after the seven years, my time is up.”

He continued, “I never dreamed that I would be here. I sort of felt like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ I came in for a tour of what the previous show was, and the next thing I know, I was handed the keys.”

DeSantis has been an effective Republican governor, this rubs many Democrats the wrong way as he has done many things that other Republican governors won’t or don’t feel like they can. Florida has drawn in a considerable amount of people since DeSantis became governor.

Joy Behar also joked DeStatis over Hurricane Ian but had to give him credit and complimented him after tearing him down.
