Trump Campaign Surrogate Brags About ‘Rigged Election’ That he Claims VA Conservative Candidate Will Lose

***UPDATE*** Check bottom of article

June 13th is the date of a primary convention being held in the 5th Congressional District of Virginia. The sitting Republican U.S. House Rep is Denver Riggleman, who has come under fire by the more conservative faction of the local party for being too moderate. He even used his position as a Republican U.S. Congressman to officiate a gay wedding that he claims he was not trying to politicize.

Regardless of this, he drew a much more conservative primary challenger who stands behind strong Christian values. More than one of Riggleman’s supporters have likened supporters of Bob Good’s to ‘party purists’ or even gone as far as to call them ‘Christian Taliban’. The Good campaign says that Bob Good has more ‘delegates’ planning on voting for him in the upcoming convention.

One of Riggleman’s supporters took to a Facebook post to imply that Good is going to lose the ‘rigged election’. Webb was asked what exactly he meant by that and why he thinks that Bob Good is set up to lose a rigged election. Although it’s unclear, many might draw the conclusion that Webb was bragging that Good would lose the election because it’s rigged against him.

He later backtracked to try to explain his way out of that after it was found out that he is working for the Trump Campaign. It certainly wouldn’t reflect well on a Trump campaign surrogate that he was implying his favorite nominee for Congress would beat the more conservative opponent because of a ‘rigged’ election if that is indeed what he is implying, which is still not 100% clear. Webb went on to brag that his ‘boss’ (posting an old Trump tweet ‘endorsing’ the sitting Congressman who happens to be Denver Riggleman) has a ‘message’.

Although it’s hard to prove any wrongdoing outright, it’s dismaying to see members of the local Virginia establishment appear to be part of a concerted effort to make the playing field uneven for a fair contender who is doing his best to represent the needs of his constituents by running for Congress. When the convention passes, perhaps more light will be shed on what exactly has happened, who may have rigged what, and what comes next for Virginia’s red 5th Congressional district.

***UPDATE*** 9:52 ET It appears Trevor Webb has removed the claim of being connected to the Trump campaign from his Facebook profile so he may just be an ardent Denver Riggleman supporter after all. See image below:
