Former President Donald Trump made an early appearance on Fox News Thursday morning in which he said he is “100%” considering running for president once again in 2024 amid speculation growing on whether he will throw his hat in the ring once again.
In the CPAC2024 straw poll, Trump was the clear winner with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in second place. In his appearance, he also mentioned how he would consider DeSantis for his running-mate as some Trump supporters would like DeSantis to run if Trump decides not to.
Both seem to align well politically and appeal to the same groups within the Republican Party as right-wing populists and anti-establishment figures.
We previously reported on how Trump may be hitting the campaign trail soon, “Former president and beloved MAGA icon Donald Trump is expected to restart his famous “Make America Great Again” rallies. It seems he is ready to begin his entry into the political arena once again as a major figure whether he runs for president in 2024 or not.
The well-anticipated decision of Trump running for president a third time in 2024 or not will have to wait as he is expected to announce it after the 2022 midterms elections, where Republicans are expected to do well potentially taking back Congress. Republicans lost the Senate and the White House in 2020 while closing the gap in the House.”
A Trump-DeSantis ticket would be an America First Conservatives dream as the two represent Trumpism and the direction many in the party believe the GOP needs to go.
However, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) seemed to have a different vision for the GOP as he appeared to want Trump to be the in the past with the GOP.
Mitch McConnell went on Fox News saying, “We’re looking to the future, not the past. And you want to see the future of the Republican party, watch Tim Scott’s response to President Biden last night. He’s the future. That’s where we’re headed.”

We will have to see how this all plays out with the two different sides of the GOP clashing constantly.
