African American Olympic Wrestler Beams With Patriotic Pride While Wrapped in U.S. Flag, ‘I Freaking Love Living There’

American Olympic wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock showed an admirable amount of patriotism and love for America during an interview following her gold medal win in wrestling. Unlike much of the U.S. Olympic team, which often makes headlines concerning athletes that kneel for our anthem and regularly talk down on our nation, Mensah-Stock praised her homeland.

When asked how it felt to don the U.S. flag over her shoulders after winning the gold medal, an ecstatic Mensah-Stock replied, “I love representing the US, I freaking love living there. I love it, and I’m so happy I get to represent USA!”

Her blatant display of patriotism invigorated many social media users who are sick and tired of seeing U.S. athletes attack our country while on the international stage in Tokyo. Sports commentator David Hookstead said, “This is what real patriotism looks like. LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick could learn a lesson from her.”

Political Commentator Todd Starnes also praised Mensah-Stock, saying, “What a great American patriot and athlete!! God bless America and Tamyra Mensah-Stock!”

Other Olympic athletes, like Megan Rapinoe from the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, have been attacked on social media for a lack of patriotism. Conservative Influencer Candace Owens labeled Rapinoe “an anti-American piece of trash who does not represent our country, anywhere, ever.” Rapinoe has faced enormous amounts of backlash following her decision to kneel during the National Anthem while wearing a U.S. Olympic jersey and platforming herself as a U.S. athlete.

One Twitter user encouraged Rapinoe to take Mensah-Stock as an example of how American Olympians should act.
