Another One Bites the Dust, Friday was Trump-Hating John Harwood’s Last Day at CNN

John Harwood announced on Twitter Friday that it was his last day.

“personal news: today’s my last day at CNN proud of the work thanks to my colleagues i’ve been lucky to serve the best in American media – St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, CNN look forward to figuring out what’s next”

Another casualty at CNN as they try to clean up the extreme partisan rhetoric. Harwood was not shy when it came to bashing conservatives.

The news comes shortly after new CEO Chris Licht let go of Brian Stelter and Jeffery Toobin. Licht was chosen by Warner Bros. Discovery to replace Zucker, placed in his position to “tone down spectacle” at CNN.

Harwood was one of many pundits who downplayed Hunter Biden’s scandals and at one point said there was “zero evidence” of Joe being connected to Hunter’s alleged corruption. He also said Joe didn’t do “anything wrong”.

“It seems pretty clear that Hunter Biden was trading on his father’s name to make a lot of money, he’s had a difficult life, but until someone makes a nexus between what Hunter Biden has done and official activities of Vice President Biden or President Biden, it’s a not-pretty picture, but it’s not really of much public import in terms of the policy of the United States or the administration of the government,” Harwood said on “New Day.”

Harwood has verbally attacked former President Trump many times. What may have been his last slam on the former president came after Biden’s Thursday speech. Harwood states that the “core point” Biden made in his speech “about a threat to democracy is true.” This affirmed he believes that Trump is a threat.

Harwood also went after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, for calling Dr. Fauci “little elf”.

“No better example of the Republican Party’s degradation than its demagogic attacks on a brilliant public servant who has spent decades working to fight ignorance and save lives with medical science”

Licht is sending a clear message he will not accept the extreme partisan rhetoric on the network anymore. It’s doubtful it will change all that much though, in our view, or at least don’t hold your breath.
