Biden Administration Voices Unwavering Support For Dr. Fauci Amidst Email Controversy

After over 3,000 emails of Coronavirus advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci’s were released this week, the Biden administration doubled down on their support and confidence in him. These emails were controversial due to the fact that Fauci’s personal email opinions would prove to be vastly different from the opinion he espoused publicly.

When asked about Fauci’s emails, Biden’s Press Secretary, Jen Psaki said, “Well, I think we’ve spoken to this pretty extensively from here. Let me just say on Dr. Fauci and his emails – he’s also spoken to this many many times over the last, over the course of the last few days and we’ll let him speak for himself.” She praised Fauci, describing him as, “an undeniable asset in our country’s pandemic response” and seemingly there blame towards the Trump administration by saying, “it’s obviously not that advantageous for me to re-litigate the substance of emails from 17 months ago.”

As reporters continued to pressure Psaki to give a better response on the Fauci controversy she nervously smiled and said, “The president and the administration feel that Dr. Fauci has played an incredible role in getting the pandemic under control.” Interestingly enough, the Press Secretary was not asked a single question about Fauci in her press briefing yesterday. This sparked outrage and backlash yesterday from Conservative media personalities.

However, Psaki explained how there is an intelligence review underway that will look into the origins of COVID-19. Psaki said, “We’ve launched, based on the President’s direction, an entire internal review process to use all the resources across government to get to the bottom of the origins, and that’s 100-day process and we’ll look forward to providing – or 90 days when it’s concluded.”
