CNN Writer Implies Too Many White People are Trying to Cure Coronavirus Under Trump

CNN writer Brandon Tensley wrote an article blasting the Trump administration for having too many white people on the Coronavirus task force. He mentioned President Trump’s tweet that said, “We will continue to monitor the ongoing developments. We have the best experts anywhere in the world, and they are on top of it 24/7!” Tensley asked, “Who are these experts? They’re largely the same sort of white men (and a couple women on the sidelines) who’ve dominated the Trump administration from the very beginning.”

He also wrote that the visuals of the meeting define the Trump administration as mostly white men. “They signal the kind of people in a multi-racial country Trump values the opinions of: mostly white men who are mirror images of the President himself.” The tweet Tensley mentioned is below:

This is the same author of an article titled, “The pain of losing civil rights icons in the Trump era.” In the article, he writes, “There’s something uniquely heavy, and even cruel, about the persistent theme of loss — about having to reckon with its inevitability — in today’s political climate of at times presidentially abetted bigotry.” Tensley basically describes Trump’s nomination of Jeff Sessions to be attorney general as racist, “As US attorney general, Sessions sought to roll back vital gains across a range of areas, including criminal justice, immigration, policing, and beyond; he also breathed new life into the department’s decades-old war on drugs.”

He concludes this article by saying Trump seemingly wants to cancel out the work of civil rights icons. His opinions seem to ignore the fact that total black approval for Trump has grown. According to Rasmussen Reports, this support has grown from 21% to 42%. View the other categories of approval from 2019 to 2020 below:

Today, the World Health Organization declared coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern at a news conference in Geneva. According to ABC News, “This is only the sixth time such an emergency has been declared, with past examples including the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Zika virus.”

According to the CDC, the best recommendations for Americans who are worried about their health is to practice proper flu season hygiene, including frequent hand washing, covering coughs and keeping up-to-date on new information from the CDC. “Our assessment remains that the immediate risk to the American public is low,” said Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
