Dan Bongino announced on his Thursday podcast, “Folks, regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News on the Fox News Channel.”
Matt Couch shared on Twitter:
“BREAKING: Dan Bongino is leaving Fox News..”
It appears that Bongino and Fox News were unable to come to an agreement on his contract. He shared, “It’s tough. It’s tough to say that. You know, I’ve been there doing hits and working there for ten years…so the show ending was tough. And I want you to know it’s not some big conspiracy. I promise you. There’s no acrimony. This wasn’t some WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension.”
Fox News also issued a statement:
“We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Fox News will air “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” on Saturday night in place of Bongino’s show.
Bongino was given his own show on Fox News in 2021 “Unfiltered With Dan Bongino“. Bongino’s radio show was used to replace the long-running show hosted by Rush Limbaugh. It was also aired on Fox Nation streaming service, but will no longer appear.
Bongino has supported alternatives to Social Media giants by investing in Rumble and Parler, although Parler has now been sold and at least temporarily shuttered. He has pushed back on the censorship of conservatives and wanted to help provide alternative platforms.
At one point Elon Musk showed interest in partnering with Rumble after a pitch from Bongino and Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski.
It appears outwardly the split between Fox News and Bongino is amicable. The news came just days after Fox News came to an agreement with Dominion to settle for $787.5 million. It isn’t clear if the settlement had any effect on the contract negotiations between Bongino and Fox News.
While Bongino will no longer be on Fox News he will still be releasing his podcast and radio show.
