Graham Taunts Dems, Agrees with Trump on Bidens: “Are You Going to Impeach Me?”

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke to the media regarding the impeachment trial and the involvement of the Biden Family. He emphasized the significance of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s actions in Ukraine as corrupt, bad foreign policy and bad government.

“From a foreign policy point-of-view, as much as I like Joe Biden and respect him … I think it is bad foreign policy if you’re gonna be in charge of dealing with the corruption in Ukraine that your son hook up with the most corrupt company in Ukraine.”

He also mentioned the idea that Joe Biden was not aware of his son being on the Ukrainian company board is not believable. “If you don’t know that one of your family members is getting $87,000 a month from the most corrupt gas company in Ukraine, and if it’s your job to deal with corruption in Ukraine, you’re not looking very hard. Somebody needs to look, not to help Trump, but to help us all.”

Graham also stated the scenario that would occur if a Republican vice president was given the task of cleaning up Ukraine and one of his children was on the board of a corrupt company. “There would be investigation upon investigation and they would deserve the scrutiny. So what’s gonna happen here is that we’re gonna sit among ourselves when this is over and ask the question, ‘Did President Trump corruptly ask for the Bidens to be looked at.’ I’m gonna look at them. Are you gonna impeach me?”

Graham ended his statement by saying Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who is one of the House Impeachment Managers said they have to get rid of the president because we can’t trust him. Graham said that decision should be made by the voters at the ballot box in November. View Graham’s statement below:

Additionally, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) held a long press conference where he emphasized the need for witnesses to appear at the Senate trial. Schumer mentioned the importance of Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney in the alleged Ukrainian aid scandal. “Who is the chief cook and bottle washer in this whole horrible scheme, this whole evil scheme; Mick Mulvaney … Why can’t we hear from Mulvaney?” Schumer said. “He knew exactly Trump did. He knew exactly what Trump’s motivations were. He knew who else was in on the deal.”

On January 21, the Senate voted on party lines 53-47 to not subpoena Mulvaney. View Chief Justice Roberts remarks on that vote below:

According to Bernard Goldberg in an editorial in The Hill, the pursuit of impeaching Trump began the moment he was elected. Goldberg used the words of Jay Sekulow at the Senate trial to defend his thoughts.

“As the Senate’s impeachment trial opened on Tuesday, Jay Sekulow, a member of the president’s legal team, stood before the 100 senators who will decide the president’s fate and asked a question everybody knew the answer to. ‘Why are we here?’ Sekulow asked, rhetorically. ‘Are we here because of a phone call? Or, are we here before this great body because, since the president was sworn into office, there was a desire to see him removed?’” Goldberg said.

“But so was the decision to impeach the president a foregone conclusion. The decision was made right about the time he was declared winner of the 2016 presidential election,” Goldberg wrote. “Donald Trump’s real impeachable offense, as far as the anti-Trump ‘Resistance’ is concerned, was defeating Hillary Clinton.”
