Kayleigh McEnany Slams Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Upon Resignation, Says She Doesn’t Live According to Her Politics

The co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Cullors announced that she is stepping down from her role as executive director but insists this is not due to scrutiny she has faced over the spending of her program.

Cullors told the Associated Press, “I’ve created the infrastructure and the support, and the necessary bones and foundation so that I can leave. It feels like the time is right.” Cullors was executive director of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation for almost 6 years and claims to be leaving to focus on her second book and the production of a TV show with Warner Bros.

Cullors remains insistent that she is not leaving due to any nefarious sending, saying, “Those were right-wing attacks that tried to discredit my character, and I don’t operate off of what the right thinks about me.”

Former Press Secretary under the Trump administration, Kayleigh McEnany, slammed Cullors in early April when it was revealed that Cullors purchased a $1.4 million home in Los Angeles, where the demographics are 88% white and a mere 1.8% black.

McEnany seemed skeptical on how large of a salary Cullors took from the BLM foundation. The BLM foundation reported $90 million in donations in the year 2020 and reported a salary of $120,000 total for her work from 2013-2019.

Once it was announced that Cullors was stepping down, McEnany attacked her again.

McEnany accused Cullors of being a hypocrite since Cullors claims to be a trained Marxist but, through her personal life, is benefitting greatly off the capitalistic system present in America. McEnany believes this kind of financial skepticism is valid since BLM groups in urban areas across the U.S. allegedly claim to receive little to no money from the massively profitable organization.

McEnany said the BLM organization has been, “opaque with their finances…and this is the first time in their eight-year history that they have [publically] disclosed their finances.” McEnany and the Fox News hosts question whether or not Cullors took a windfall to pay herself back for her work from 2013-2019. The BLM organization claims that the $90 million in 2020 was an influx. However, the Fox News crew is skeptical of that, noting that high-level celebrities like Prince and JAY-Z donated large sums of money to the organization before 2020.
