Liberals Enraged as George Floyd Statue Vandalized in Union Square Park

A statue of the late Black Lives Matter icon George Floyd was vandalized on Saturday after being splattered with paint in Union Square Park.

“Walked up to Union Square Park and the George Floyd sculpture has already been defaced. It’s been for hours.”

As we previously reported, “A Toledo, Ohio mural dedicated to George Floyd, whose death while in police custody sparked riots and protests throughout the country last year, was reduced to rubble today following a lightning strike.

WTOL 11 News reported that the piece was created by Toledo artist David Ross just about one year ago and he said the artwork stands as a memorial and reminder to never forget what happened that day in May of 2020.

Toledo was one of the sites of the riots last summer as numerous businesses downtown and in west Toledo were damaged.”

Unlike the lighting strike of the mural in Toldeo, this appears to be intentionally done by one or more people to show disagreement with a mural being there in honor of Geroge Floyd. Many on the right will cite his long criminal record in the past as a reason to not idolize him.

“A statue of George Floyd in Union Square has been vandalized with paint not even 48 hours after it was unveiled to the public in an emotional ceremony.”

While some could say vandalizing statues is not the best way to show disagreement with a person or idea, it is important to remember the number of confederate statues the left has tried to take down and has already taken down. An investigation is underway to find out who was behind this but so far no arrests have been made.
