While hosts of “The View” celebrated the news that Fox News has parted ways with Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly pushed back on their joyful display of disdain.
Kelly replied to a tweet shared by Brian Stelter:
“Not one of these women could solo host a show and get ratings. Not one. They are & will always be ensemble players. Their jealousy is on full display here, and ideological hatred too of course.”
Stelter had shared a clip from “The View” in which Whoopi Goldberg shared the news that Carlson was done at Fox News. She also added before celebrating the news that they would talk more about it tomorrow.
The hosts at the table were enthused about the news including Alyssa Farah Griffin, who said “It’s a good day for the Ukrainian people,” after calling Carlson pro-Russia. The others also made comments sharing their mutual dislike of Carlson.
Stelter tweeted:
“The studio audience at @TheView broke out in applause when Tucker Carlson’s ouster was announced. Then the co-hosts did a wave and led the crowd in singing “GOODBYE.”
“Tucker Carlson Tonight” was the highest-rated cable network show with With 3.5 Million Viewers according to Forbes.
Tucker did not only host his show alone but rated at the top of cable network shows.
Stelter it seems has entrenched himself in trying to get as much news as possible about the ousting of Carlson at Fox News. Stelter has even reached out to Carlson to see if he can get any update from him.
Stelter made a thread when the news broke that Fox News had ousted Carlson. He shared something telling about Fox News’ press release. Carlson isn’t going to get the chance to do a final show as it was noted his final show was on April 21st.
Stelter shared, “The biggest “tell” in Fox’s press release about Tucker Carlson’s exit is that he is not getting a final show. No chance to say goodbye on his own terms or point people to his next home. Fox says “Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st.”
“When CNN ended “Reliable Sources,” I was offered a final episode, a chance to sign off on my own terms. I really appreciated that. I think viewers did too. Tucker leaving Fox WITHOUT even saying goodbye? Stunning.”
The press release issued by Fox News has only led to speculation as to why the sudden departure. Some are pointing out that this move by Fox News came shortly after a settlement was reached with Dominion for $787.5 million.
It was also recently announced that Dan Bongino was also done at Fox News, although Bongino claimed that it was because he and Fox News couldn’t come to an agreement about his contract.
To add to all of the craziness, Don Lemon, who has been with CNN for 17 years was also ousted. Lemon has made it public that the split wasn’t amicable.
Stelter pointed out:
“To be clear: Fox News did not know that CNN was terminating Don Lemon today and CNN did not know that Fox was ousting Tucker Carlson. This was a complete and crazy coincidence.”
This surprise shakeup has many wondering what will be next for Carlson. Where will he go from here? After 14 years with Fox News where will he go now?
