Republican Congresswoman’s Home Vandalized with Antifa Symbols on Memorial Day

On Monday, Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted on Twitter that her home was vandalized with Antifa symbols. Mace lives in South Carolina as a single mother with two children. Mace said, “In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, my home, where I’m raising my two children, was vandalized with Antifa symbols and profanity. Although my kids and I are thankfully fine, these criminal acts are unacceptable no matter your politics.”

The congresswoman went on to say, “We should all be able to feel safe in our own homes, regardless of our political beliefs. I sincerely appreciate law enforcement doing all they can to find the criminal trespassers. This is the 2nd time I’ve been targeted for vandalism in the last few months…There is a significant difference between nonviolent protests and criminal acts of intimidation and vandalism. I’m concerned too for my neighbors who’ve been impacted by this appalling criminal behavior.”

In recent weeks, Republican GOP figures like Mace have been the victims of extreme, threatening attacks. Just last week, Senator Rand Paul received threats in the mail. We reported on this:

On Monday, May 24th, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) received a large envelope filled with white powder at the doorstep of his house in Kentucky. The FBI and Capitol Hill police are investigating this incident in an attempt to discover who put the package there. The outside of the envelope had a picture of the senator bandaged, donning a neck brace, holding a crutch, and has an image of a rifle pointed at his head. Underneath the image is a quote reading: “I’LL FINISH WHAT YOUR NEIGHBOR STARTED, YOU M**********R”.

GOP leaders posted their condolences for Congresswoman Mace across Twitter this afternoon. Nikki Haley (R-SC) said, “I hate that your children had to see that.”, in a reply to Mace’s tweet. South Carolina Senator, Tim Scott, also offered prayers and support for Mace, saying, “Acts of vandalism and hate are simply unacceptable and have no place in our society. Praying for you, the kids, and our community. I trust our local law enforcement officers will get to the bottom of this soon.”

As more and more Conservative figures begin to face similar threats and crimes, Democrats ought to voice their concern for their fellow Americans. Liberal characters like Akilah Hughes, a political commentator with over 200,000 Twitter followers mocked Congresswoman Mace, replying to her tweet saying, “Y’all have issues.”

Multitudes of politically inclined people with verified blue checkmarks by their names mocked, joked about, or said nasty things towards Congresswoman Mace regarding her terrifying situation.
