Ted Cruz Torches Mayor Wheeler’s Too Little Too Late Anti Antifa Speech

Republican Senator Ted Cruz (TX) criticized Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s (D) statement in which he went after and acknowledged the violence in the city caused by the far-left terrorist organization of Antifa. See the Senator’s tweet below:

Mayor Wheeler said in a statement Saturday, “My good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence and even scorn from radical ‘Antifa’ and anarchists. In response, it will be necessary to use additional tools, and to push the limits of the tools we already have to bring the criminal destruction and violence to an end.” This is the first time the Mayor blamed Antifa not Trump supporters for the recent violence in Portland.

Cruz said, “Every word of this is true. Except for “it’s time.” It was time when the riots and violence and fire-bombing started, not many months after their terrorist “summer of love.”” The far-left groups like BLM and Antifa both have and continue to cause violence in the city following the spark of racial riots and protests after the death of George Floyd who overdosed last summer while in Minneapolis police custody.

For much of the time, the Mayor refused to attack Antifa and act to protect the city from any further violence from the radical left. During that time autonomous zones similar to “CHOP/CHAZ” were formed and faced little to no resistance for quite some time. Police and Trump supporters were attacked by Antifa and BLM while Mayor Wheeler did nothing but blame Trump supporters for the violence. One Trump supporter was even tragically shot and killed.

We will have to see what and if the mayor does to prevent further violence from occurring in the city or if this is just more talk to save face while he watches his city burn.

Earlier we reported:

Portland, Oregon’s Mayor, Ted Wheeler, has arguably contributed to the chaos led by ‘Antifa’, Black Lives Matter, and other radicals who have been rioting, looting and causing chaos in Portland, Oregon for many months. Lots of right-leaning pundits predicted that after the 2020 presidential election things would be different with the way Democrats approached the horrible situation.

Although there may not be enough specific evidence to outright prove it, one could speculate that Democrats wanted chaos and disarray during election season, even as they complained that President Trump was benefiting from footage of rioters to try to prop up his campaign…

Wheeler condemned that violence, but then right afterward proceeded to somehow blame President Trump’s “rhetoric” for the murder, rather than Wheeler’s own inaction on stopping the rioters. At one point during the season of chaos, Portland’s Mayor Wheeler even tried joining a group of protesters, but he was quickly kicked out of the ‘club’ for not being radical enough in the eyes of those on the ground that day.”
