Trump Hints At Trump/Desantis 2024 Run In Interview – ‘I would Certainly Consider Ron’

Former President Donald Trump told Fox Business on Monday that he would, “certainly consider Ron” as a Vice President running mate if Trump runs in 2024. Trump described DeSantis as belonging to a, “great group of people”. Trump has been a supporter of DeSantis for most of DeSantis’ political career: “I was at the beginning of Ron. I was the first one to endorse him when he came out as a congressman that a lot of people didn’t know and my endorsement helped him tremendously and I know him very well. He’s a great guy”. Trump added, “He’s a friend of mine. I endorsed Ron, and after I endorsed him, he took off like a rocketship. He’s done a great job as governor.”

Trump has not officially announced a 2024 presidential run yet. Last month, Trump said he is “100%” thinking about a 2024 presidential bid and says, “the polls show that everybody wants me to do it.”

Trump briefly mentioned his former Vice President counterpart, Mike Pence. Trump claims Pence and him have a “good relationship” but admitted he was “disappointed with Mike one thing”, probably referencing how Pence handled the certification of the election results. Trump’s relationship has been reported to be hanging by a thread over the past few months.

The former Vice President has faced scrutiny from nearly all Trump supporters, with many labeling Pence as a traitor, expecting him to push back harder against the certification of the 2020 election. Trump said this on Pence’s character and their relationship: “He understands and some other people understand, but overall, I had a very good relationship with Mike and he’s a very fine person and a fine man.”

It seems that DeSantis has much better odds of running with Trump than Pence. Over the past few months, DeSantis has made multiple trips to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, located in DeSantis’ home state. DeSantis and Trump have mingled together at fundraiser events, attended parties together, and golfed together.
