U.S. Senator and Intel Committee Member Jerry Moran Accuses Biden Administration of Keeping Congress in the Dark on Chinese ‘Spy’ Balloon

U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) sat down on Friday with Neil Cavuto to discuss the Chinese ‘spy’ Balloon that at the time was flying over the United States.

Moran is a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Cavuto introduced the Senator and then stated, “a lot of things just don’t add up.” Information wasn’t shared that the balloon was headed this way, it was only made public once Americans started reporting seeing it in the sky over the state of Montana. With it now public, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken then decided to cancel his trip to China.

“We need more information, and all of us are calling on the administration,” Moran starts. He goes on to state he is a member of the intelligence committee, he is a “senior defense appropriator”. Moran states he has been in two intelligence committee meetings twice before Wednesday and no information about this balloon was shared at those briefings.

“Never been brought to our attention,” he tells Cavuto. “This administration is keeping us in the dark and then claiming that they are doing what they’re supposed to do.”

Moran demands, “give us the information so that not only members of Congress but the American people can make the determination.”

“This administration has acted, reacted in a way that is too weak, not strong enough, not message sending and simply having a diplomatic spat over attendance by the secretary in China. That’s a pretty minuscule thing in our response,” Moran said.

Moran wants the balloon taken into U.S. custody he shares that it should be allowed to leave our airspace, “shot down” or another appropriate measure to take it into custody.

Moran shared the interview on Twitter:

“The Biden Administration owes Congress and the American people an explanation for their decision to allow a Chinese spy balloon to fly across the entire country – including NE Kansas. Further delay is unacceptable.”

Moran is one of many members of Congress as well as state governors who want answers as to what is going on. Why is it being allowed to travel across the country why wasn’t it taken down earlier?
