Wendy Rogers Reacts to News of Documents Missing from Elections in Fulton County Georgia

A Fulton County election official told Georgia Star News on Wednesday that “a few forms are missing” and “some procedural paperwork may have been misplaced”. The Star News, through an Open Records Request, found that 385 out of 1,565 transfer forms are missing. Fulton County is missing 24% of its ballots from the 2020 election.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told CNN that he has opened an investigation into Fulton County over “requiring absentee ballot drop box transfer forms to be filled out.” Raffensperger’s office also mentioned that they held “similar investigations in Coffee, Grady, and Taylor counties a few months ago.”

Raffensperger authored a tweet on Monday attacking Fulton County and explaining his fiery desire to restore confidence in Georgia elections.

These shocking revelations out of Fulton County have excited many political influencers and commentators that have supported the idea that the 2020 election had questionable integrity. State Senator out of Arizona, Wendy Rogers, expressed her excitement on Twitter, saying, “When there is smoke there is fire!”, implying that more shocking details may come to the surface.

Fulton County officials have insisted that Raffensperger’s investigation will only focus on the ballot transfer forms and not the individual ballots. Fulton County spokeswoman Jessica Corbitt-Dominguez said, “Fulton County followed procedures for the collection of absentee ballots from Fulton County drop boxes. We maintain a large quantity of documents and (are) researching our files from last year to produce the ballot transfer forms.”

This transfer ballot controversy fuels the fire for other legal cases concerning the election in Georgia. Just last month, Superior Court Judge Brian Amero granted a motion that will unseal high-resolution images of 142,000 absentee ballots cast in Fulton County. A plaintiff in the case, Garland Favorite says that this order was made so the ballots can be “forensically analyzed”. The depositions for this case were postponed until the judge can listen to a hearing on a motion to drop the case (filed by Fulton County lawyers) on the 21st of June. Individual election workers singled out by Donald Trump and his legal team friends were set to be deposed.

Raffensperger’s handling of this election controversy will be instrumental to his reelection bid in 2022. Raffensperger is running against U.S. Rep Jody Hice. Trump released a statement endorsing Hice and attacking Raffensperger in late March, saying, “One of our most outstanding Congressmen, Jody Hice, has announced he is running for Secretary of State in the Great State of Georgia. Jody has been a steadfast fighter for conservative Georgia values and is a staunch ally of the America First agenda. Unlike the current Georgia Secretary of State, Jody leads out front with integrity.”
