Things get Worse for the Manhattan D.A. after Prosecutors Resign, now Revealed Prosecutors Threatened to Charge Trump Organization CFO’s Son According to Attorney

Things appear to be getting worse for the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after prosecutors charging the Trump organization resigned.

As we previously reported, “It was reported today that the two prosecutors leading the Manhattan district attorney’s Trump organization investigation resigned today amid a months-long pause in its grand jury presentation. According to Jonah Bromwich with the New York Times, their departure leaves the future of the investigation ‘in doubt.

On Sunday, NBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner baselessly claimed that Trump ‘will be indicted’ eventually after a recent court ruling compelling him to comply with a civil subpoena. The resignations by these prosecutors make that unlikely at this point, as the Manhattan DA was supposed to be investigating potential criminal charges.

“Trump Organization CFO’s son was threatened with arrest before his father was charged with fraud and tax evasion, his father’s attorneys say.”

The Trump organization CFO, Allen Weisselberg, was charged with tax fraud last summer by the prosecutors who have now resigned. However, Weisselberg’s attorneys are now alleging there was foul play involved.

Weiselberg’s attorneys are saying that the prosecutors threatened Weisselberg with charging his son, Barry. “By threatening to prosecute Mr. Weisselberg’s son Barry with prosecution, and by threatening to indict Mr. Weisselberg with other future ‘new charges,’ prosecutors crossed the line and violated (Allen) Weisselberg’s due process rights,” the attorneys wrote.

They continued, “Had it chosen to prosecute Mr. Weisselberg’s son, that prosecution too would be challenged as a vindictive ‘penalty’ in violation of due process.” This is yet another hit to the Manhattan District Attorney who many believe that he has a personal vendetta with Trump in going after the organization.
