MSNBC host Joy Reid, whose Twitter feed is littered with apparent disdain for White people, is out telling people who perhaps only wear one mask while driving in their car (not a direct quote) that it isn’t enough.
Yep, Joy is double masking, and not “wildin”. What you do is up to you as long as you follow all laws of course. But Joy may be oversensationalizing things in our view. She tweeted a picture of herself today, in a car, with two masks, the outer one being used to promote her TV show:
“I’m with @CapehartJ — I too am one vax down, but even when I get the second shot, I am too “scurred” to be out there wildin. No flying and no indoor activities for me. Nope! #TheSundayShow
And we double mask in our family — the hospital style one with a cute cloth one on top. Will still be doing that for the foreseeable future. Here’s my fun @thereidout mask!”

Although we take Covid-19 seriously, and support obeying all laws, we don’t think it’s good to scare people and it’s also good to have a balanced approach. Reid’s radical approach may not be helping much in our view. It also raises the question of credibility. Someone who constantly has bad things to say about White people isn’t someone who is going to be taken seriously by too many.
In January she basically accused Republicans of being complicit with “cultural insurgency”, and in this tweet below she said:
“These people have spent years pumping tens of millions of mainly white Americans full of hate and rage by fixating them on Black, Brown and Muslim people, especially women, who dare to not bow to right wing, white supremacist orthodoxy.”

Not all liberals have the same Covid-19 stand and mask stance, as radical left-wing Governor of Michigan’s top aide proved to us recently. This was by breaking her boss’s travel recommendations and traveling out of state to a spring break beach party. We reported on that previously here.
As far as Reid’s credibility, it’s amazing she still has a show. We’ve reported previously about how she defended blasphemy, allowed Stacey Abrams to push the crazy theory that election reform laws are Jim Crow laws, denied that Black Lives Matter is a violent organization, and said former President Trump had a Mussolini moment when he safely took off a mask when no one else was around him.
She’s even run afoul of some Muslim Democrats such as Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, both U.S. House Reps. She previously said that former President Trump went “full Putin“, and was publicly triggered when she got a text message about Mike Lindell. She didn’t like when former Surgeon General Jerome Adams, a Black man, called for political unity either. So yes, there is definitely a credibility issue here, and we’ve just scratched the surface. The bottom line here, be safe, don’t let fear ruin your life.
