Biden Removes Trump Order Enacting Stricter Penalties for Defacing Monuments

Biden removed six Trump executive orders including one that enacted stricter penalties for defacing monuments. This action from the president could start up the destruction of more monuments again, which we saw much of last year.

Biden’s order reads:

“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 3301 and 3302 of title 5, United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1.  Revocation of Presidential Actions.  The following Presidential actions are revoked:  Executive Order 13925 of May 28, 2020 (Preventing Online Censorship), Executive Order 13933 of June 26, 2020 (Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence), Executive Order 13934 of July 3, 2020 (Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes), Executive Order 13964 of December 10, 2020 (Rebranding United States Foreign Assistance To Advance American Influence), Executive Order 13978 of January 18, 2021 (Building the National Garden of American Heroes), and Executive Order 13980 of January 18, 2021 (Protecting Americans From Overcriminalization Through Regulatory Reform).”

“Biden revokes a number of Trump-era orders, including one enacting stricter penalties for defacing monuments.”

Last summer with all of the rioting and violence, Black Lives Matter tyrants tore down and defaced multiple statues. They threw a public fit and pushed for the removal of American history. They were successful to some extent with the removal of Robert E. Lee from the U.S. Capitol building and with the destruction of many other statues.

Former President Trump enacted executive order 13933, Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence, in June of 2020 in an effort to stop the destruction of American History.

We previously reported, “President Trump announced in an interview tonight that he will issue an executive order designed to protect public statuary, as statues around the country have been torn down or defaced amid protests in recent weeks.

“We’re going to do something very soon. We’re going to do an executive order. We’re going to make the cities guard their monuments, this is a disgrace,” he said…

Earlier in Lafayette Square, U.S. Park Police sprayed some potential vandals with what appeared to be pepper spray to get them to move back after some groups were calling to take down the statue and ropes could be seen hanging off of a sculpture of President Andrew Jackson on a horse.

On Friday night in D.C., vandals toppled a statue of Confederate Gen. Albert Pike, the only outdoor Confederate memorial in the city by yanking it down with a rope and later setting it ablaze as law enforcement looked on.”

Nancy Pelosi weighed in on the removal of statues across the country we reported, “I’m not one of those people who’s wedded to, oh a statue to somebody someplace is an important thing. If the community doesn’t want a statue there, it shouldn’t be there.”

A reporter then asked if statues slated to be removed should at least be done by a commission instead of a mob throwing them (such as Christopher Columbus in Baltimore, MD) into the harbor in the middle of the night. Pelosi shrugged off the ISIS-like statue removal by simply saying, people will do what they do.”

Showing that she doesn’t care about monuments and their removal or destruction.

In Virginia, many Monuments were defaced and one in Portsmouth, VA was taken down by an angry mob which included Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas who was charged for her involvement. The charges were dropped and the Police Chief Angela Green who brought forth the charges were dismissed on the same day. One of the participants in the mob was critically injured while they removed the statue.

Some state legislatures have made moves of their own to protect their monuments. Arizona State HB2552 was brought forth to increase penalties on monument destroyers it has made its way through the judiciary committee.

In Pennsylvania, we previously reported, “Pennsylvania Republican State Senator Doug Mastriano has unveiled a bill which he has co-sponsored with Republican State Senator Judy Ward. This bill protects monuments from vandalism and destruction and is currently before the Judiciary Committee.

Mastriano, who has been a Trump ally in these last weeks said, “In America, citizens have the right to peacefully advocate for their beliefs. But, in no society should the routine desecration of historic monuments, memorials, markers, and statues become acceptable,” Senator Mastriano said. “With this legislation, Pennsylvanians are standing up to the masked cowards who, often under the cover of darkness, seek to erase our history and impose their beliefs on the majority.”

In the former capitol of the Confederacy, Richmond Virginia, Statues on monument avenue were defaced with spray paint including the monument to General Robert E Lee. There has been a battle to keep Robert E Lee Monument where it is today. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has called for its removal but is currently blocked by an injunction.

Biden’s removal of the executive orders opens the door for rioters and the rage mob to deface American history.
